Senior Cycle Book Rental / Consumable Classroom Materials
To defray the cost of textbooks / consumable classroom materials on students and their families, Abbey Community College has implemented a book rental scheme for senior cycle students.
Outlined below are the conditions under which the scheme operates.
The book rental scheme for 2024 - 2025 operates as follows:
- The scheme is optional but available to all students.
- The cost of the Book Rental / Consumable Classroom Materials scheme is 120 euro per student per year which includes a Student Support fee.
- Textbooks only are covered by the scheme. Workbooks, reference books, exam papers etc. are not included.
- Third and Sixth Years must return all books at the end of the the State Examinations.
- If a student leaves during the year, the books must be returned at that time.
- The books remain the property of Abbey Community College at all times, but students are responsible for the upkeep of their own books.
If books show wear and tear over and above that of normal use, students must pay an additional tariff.
If a book is lost, the book must be replaced by the student.
Book Rental Scheme Contract
Methods of payment:
- By Way2Pay online payment system. A link will be sent to your nominated mobile phone.
- By cheque / postal order made payable to Kilkenny Carlow ETB and post to Abbey Community College, Abbey Road, Ferrybank, Waterford
- By card payment to the school bursar:
- Times – Monday / Wednesday / Friday 8.30am – 11.30am.
- School phone no. 051-832930 ext.1
- By emailing bursar@abbeycommunitycollege.com and requesting a call back to make the payment.
- By calling to the school office (by appointment).
